Description Population-based Study, In Sabah And The Eastern Zone Of Malaysia, Using The WHO-recommended Rapid Assessment Of Avoidable Blindness (RAAB) Methodology Design Population-based Cross-sectional Study Inclusion Criteria All Residents Aged 50 Years And Above Exclusion Criteria Non-residents Place Of Study: Sarawak And Eastern Zone (Kelantan, Terengganu And Pahang) Justification For The Selection Of The Zones • KK-KKM Programs Have Been Officially Initiated, Implemented And Monitored In Sarawak And Eastern Zones Based On Service Demand, Before The Survey. Service Coverage Is For The Whole Zone In The Form Of Mobile And Transit. This Service Needs Evaluation To Assess The Effectiveness Of Service Delivery And Its Impact On The Population With The Aim To Improve The Program. Methodology Fieldwork – Cross-Sectional Population Survey Using RAAB7 Methodology Study Objectives 1.To Determine The Prevalence Of Blindness 2.To Determine The Prevalence Of Cataract Blindness By Level Of Visual Acuity 3.To Determine The Cataract Surgical Coverage And Effective Cataract Surgical Coverage By Level Of Visual Acuity (<6/12,<6/18,<6/60 And 3/60) 4.To Measure The Outcome Of Cataract Surgery.
In Line With The Country’s Commitment To The Global Action Plan, The National Eye Survey II (NES II) Was Conducted From October To November 2014. The Survey Involved Six Simultaneous Population Surveys Using The Rapid Assessment Of Avoidable Blindness (RAAB6) Methodology With Planning, Sampling Of The Enumeration Block (EB), Training Fieldwork, Data Entry, And Analysis Of Results Done Separately For Each Of The Six Zones. NES II Aimed To Estimate The Prevalence Of Blindness And Prevalence Of Low Vision In Each Six Zones And Their Principal Causes. It Also Aimed To Determine The Prevalence Of Cataract And Various Levels Of Vision, Cataract Surgical Coverage (CSC), Barriers To Cataract Surgical Services And Visual Outcome Following Cataract Surgery. Cross-Sectional Population Survey Using RAAB7 Methodology Objectives 1. To Determine The Prevalence Of Blindness And Visual Impairment And Their Main Causes. 2.To Determine The Cataract Surgical Coverage (CSC), Effective Surgical Coverage (eCSC) And Quality Gap (QG). 3.To Measure The Outcome Of Cataract Surgery.
The National Health And Morbidity Survey 2023: Non-Communicable Diseases And Healthcare Demand (NHMS 2023) Is A Cross-sectional, Nationwide, Population-based Survey. The Survey Employed A Two-stage Stratified Random Sampling Design To Ensure National Representativeness. Data Collection Methods Included Validated Questionnaires Administered Through Face-to-face Interviews And Self-administered Questionnaires, Alongside Clinical Assessments And Blood Investigations Using Calibrated Devices. The Survey Aims To Determine The Prevalence Of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs), Their Associated Risk Factors, And Healthcare Demand Among The Population Of Malaysia. This Dataset Focuses On NCDs And NCD Risk Factors, Including Diabetes, Hypertension, Hypercholesterolaemia, Physical Inactivity, Tobacco Use, Alcohol Consumption, Health Screening, Dietary Practices, Nutritional Status, Mental Health, Asthma, And Disability. A Total Of 13,616 Individuals Agreed To Participate, With 5,006 Living Quarters Successfully Visited, Achieving An Overall Response Rate Of 83.2%.
